She thoroughly enjoys an opportunity to develop her clinical interests, knowledge, and skillset with continued professional development, clinical supervision, and ‘passion projects’. This enables Ellie to keep up-to-date with research and practice, and keep her interests alive.
Helping people overcome their unique challenges is something that Ellie really values, and she feels very privileged to share in her client’s journeys at what is often a vulnerable time in their lives. Ellie ensures that she doesn’t take this for granted, or underestimate how difficult it can be to open up about your difficulties.

“I found my CBT sessions great, life changing in fact! … my physical symptoms have improved … CBT has given me the tools to generally improve my confidence, which had been really knocked when I was ill. It has helped me to able to cope much better with my day to day stresses and worries, and I generally feel allot happier. My CBT sessions helped me to change how I think, and become much more positive and far less negative and irrational. Now I am able to enjoy things like I used to.“
– Emma (Client)
Ellie has a passion for person-centred care and believe that therapy can be helpful when it is tailored to the individual. She takes an integrative approach to her work, drawing on models from ‘third-wave’ CBT approaches (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/ACT , Compassion-Focussed Therapy/CFT, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy/DBT Skills) where appropriate for a client’s clinical needs and goals. Ellie has received advanced training in CBT for insomnia (CBTi), and motivational interviewing. These techniques compliment her work across a range of mental health difficulties.
Ellie enjoys working with children and adolescents (age 11+) and adults. She is experienced in working with a wide variety of clients and presenting difficulties, not limited to depression, anxiety disorders, low self-esteem, self-harm, adjustment difficulties and long-term health conditions. Ellie understands that a young person is part of many systems, such as family, friendship circles, and school/college, amongst others. Working collaboratively with these systems where possible is recommended to ensure that a young person is supported and change is maintained.
“Ellie has been extremely professional throughout the process. She built a relationship with my teenage daughter which was crucial to the success of the therapy and has worked throughout with my daughter’s interests at the very heart of her service. I’d highly recommend Ellie to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and professional therapist“
